Two Buddhist record certificates were presented on Monday to venerable monk Thich Tho Lac of Dong Bac pagoda in Ninh Binh province and the world’s largest flower-made Buddhist flag was given to the province authorities.
The Vietnam Record Organization awarded an honorary doctorate from the World Record University to venerable monk Thich Tho Lac, who is also Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Shangha’s Cultural Department and the head of the Buddhist Shangha of Ninh Binh province.
On this occasion, Ninh Binh province also received the world record certificate of the World Record Union for the largest fresh flower-made Buddhist flag in the world.
Earlier, this Buddhist flag made the Vietnam and Asia record during the UN Vesak 2014, which took place on May 2014 in Ninh Binh.
The flag, made of 255,800 fresh flowers, is 4mx15m in size, with a total weight of 6 tons and made by more than 20 workers.
